Founded by dedicated professional artists from performing arts to fine arts who recognized a need for a community center and space to perform in the Village of Oak Creek.

Our Story

In all its artistic endeavors, AAS’s mission is to build on its great people, its commitment to diversity and inclusion, visionary excellence and its forward-thinking programs that breathe fresh ideas into our Sedona community.

MISSION

The Arts Academy of Sedona is an educational and cultural community center committed to innovating and creating art in all forms. We are dedicated professional artists who collaborate across the artistic disciplines to ensure all underserved people are represented. We provide a nurturing and learning environment so that all people who walk through the door excel with their own personal goals.

VISION

To educate, collaborate and innovate all artistic form, so that all people are welcome to explore an artistic experience.

SERVICES

Our aim is to provide educational and recreational activities to our community and visitors that includes dance, art and music classes for adults and children as well as events and entertainment showcasing talent from both local and further afield. We also offer our space for members of the community to rent it on an hourly base to suite their purpose.

Who we are

The Arts Academy of Sedona is a 501 (c)(3), not-for-profit professional organization, committed to bringing education and community programs to our local Sedona residents and visitors.  Inspired by the cultural richness of our city and the United States, we reveal our collective humanity through illuminating interpretations of new and classic plays, deepened by the kaleidoscope of rotating repertory dance, art and entertainment.

Camilla Ross

Excecutive Director

Camilla is an award winning, producer, actor and president of the  company Emerson Theater Collaborative. A Navy and Army Veteran and an adjunct Instructor of Business Classes at Three Rivers Community College.
AAS Board Member Karen Loomis

Karen Loomis

Vice President / Marketing

Karen brings twenty plus years of marketing, advertising and branding experience in both the corporate and small business spaces. She also is an adjunct instructor at Grand Canyon University.

Jon Capozzoli

Board Member

Jon has worked with AAS’ sister organization, Emerson Theater Collaborative since 2010 support ing both organizations. Jon has a Bachelor’s In Arts in Theatre from Eastern Connecticut State University.

Winnie Muench

Board Member

Winnie has over 20 years of executive healthcare experience, most recently as a member of the corporate staff at the University of Pennsylvania (UP) as the executive responsible for Venture and Industry Relationships. Her healthcare leadership experience in the areas of business development, financial analyses, budget planning, strategic planning, reimbursement, information systems development, managed care negotiations, merger-acquisitions, and due diligence play a significant role in the successful management of the Sedona Chamber Ballet.

Melinda McElroy

Board Member

Melinda is a Central New York native, settled
in Sedona, AZ in June 2020 after four years traveling the U.S. in an RV. Melinda is an attorney and brings strong accounting skills
from her years as an FDIC Bank Examiner.
